The Profession
This bachelor's degree aims to train nurses specializing in anesthesia and intensive care. The anesthetist nurse is a healthcare professional who will acquire skills in the fields of anesthesia, intensive care, emergency care, and pain management. Due to their knowledge and practice of emergency or survival procedures (intubation, peripheral venous catheterization, handling of ventilation and monitoring devices, etc.), the anesthetist nurse is the ideal collaborator of the doctor in the care of patients in serious condition and their transport within or outside the hospital. The presence of an anesthetist and intensive care nurse in the post-intervention monitoring room is justified by their ability to assess signs of recovery, recognize accidents that may occur, and immediately perform essential technical life-saving procedures.
The program
The program includes an in-depth study of specific modalities of anesthesia, resuscitation, and emergency care, as well as different anesthesia techniques and anesthetic pharmacological products. Students also become familiar with anesthesia in the context of different surgeries and learn how to monitor patients in the recovery room. In addition, the program covers pathology and major syndromes, as well as techniques and organization of intensive care. Pain management is also an important aspect of the training, allowing students to understand and apply effective methods to relieve patient pain in various clinical settings.
